Young Lee is a multimedia
journalist built for the 21st century. She can write, shoot,
edit and produce her own stories. As a graduate student at Northwestern
University’s Medill School of Journalism, she has covered a
wide range of urban issues. Working from Medill’s newsrooms
in Chicago and Washington, D.C., Young has covered politics,
legal issues and immigration, in addition to feature stories
and general assignments.
Young had the unique experience of growing up in Kenya and Tanzania.
She is fluent in Swahili, French, Korean and English. Young
aspires to be a foreign correspondent covering stories that
highlight social and humanitarian issues. She is particularly
interested in the critical topics shaping the 21st-century world
-- man-made disasters, human rights, peace & security, refugees
& IDP, politics, economic crises, food insecurity, gender
and health & nutrition. |
Before
Medill, Young was a management consultant for four years, successfully
building and managing relationships with more than 90 global
suppliers.
Young is a motivated, passionate and a skilled journalist with
the ability to cover complex world issues. She has an innate
ability to understand and connect with diverse people from all
walks of life, due to her unique international background.
She completed her B.A. in Sociology and African studies at Cornell
University in Ithaca NY. She will earn her Master of Science
in Journalism degree in 2011. |
